Electromagnetic fields (EMF) occur naturally, and are produced by electric charges in the earth and atmosphere. The earth’s EMF drives the north-south orientation of the compass - birds, butterflies and other animals rely on this for their migrations. Our human body evolved in this benign field, and it's electromagnetic frequency closely matches that of the earth.
Our bodies also stand in a field of man made EMF - forces emitted constantly by

EMF Safety Activism
The EMF in our lives is truly a dilemma. The technologies that produce it serve us extensively - even to the degree that we depend on them. The expertise that goes into creating and implementing them is actually remarkable - even admirable. But the EMF sources in our lives have become not just more numerous, but stronger. Literally thousands of research studies tell us EMF does harm to human health, to animals and even to plants - and that, long term it's more than we can tolerate. But in the real world, these findings are almost completely ignored.
The groups listed below fight for safety in our homes and workplaces - and on the natural environment on which we all depend. We've chosen them for their user friendliness and ability to explain sometimes complex science in a clear, accessible way. Learn what they teach, and make it your own to the point that you understand it, can apply it and communicate it with precision. Get on their mailing lists - and encourage friends to do the same.
The Activism of the Future ?
Take a moment for a lively image. A worthwhile picture to hold of an ordinary, honest but informed citizen might be that of a honey bee. Honey bees are industrious and highly competent at their work. They work flawlessly in a team, and never do harm unless severely provoked - and then only in self defense. Nevertheless, a swarm of honey bees is a force to be reckoned with - even when fully peaceable. Imagine the care public officials might begin to take if they knew that across the country 30, 40 - 50 million human "bees" - could mobilize at any time, if their policies provoked it.
Activism isn't about beating or defeating anyone - it's about expressing some of our most important needs : in this case, for protection of our most basic health and safety. In our opinion this issue is serious enough that we need to cultivate our "bee nature" - and put it to work !

Americans For Responsible Technology
www.americansforresponsibletech.org/ American for Responsible Technology is comprised of individuals from various backgrounds - from lawyers to scientists to politicians - united in concern over an exponential increase in exposure to wireless technologies in our society. Besides raising awareness, the group works with the government and other organizations to find ways to reduce exposure to EMF and other harmful technologies. Environmental Health Trust
http://ehtrust.org/ EHT educates individuals, health professionals and communities about controllable environmental health risks, and policy changes needed to reduce those risks. They create transmedia platforms that provide clear, science-based information to prevent environmentally based disease and promote health. Environmental Health Trust works with businesses, universities, and schools at all levels to create entertaining and informative materials on these themes. Currently their focus is to raise awareness of the negative impacts of unsafe cell phone use, and perform cutting edge research on cell phone radiation risks and ways to reduce them. They also focus on risks associated with smart meters, 5G networks and the siting of cell phone towers.

Children's Defense Fund
"The Defender" is the newsletter of Children's Health Defense.
The core and most legitimate tasks of government, as outlined in the U.S. Constitution, are to protect basic civil and human rights and freedoms ; and to reduce the incidence in society of behaviors that cause people injury, harm and loss. When government fails in these roles, it becomes the task of citizens - often difficult - to insist on their rights and needed protections, and to bring government back on task. This is in fact what we mean by the term "activism" on this website, and in our opinion, Children's Health Defense is the leading activist organization in America today - if not the entire world.

The organization is particularly concerned with the increasing exposure of children to electromagnetic radiation in schools.
San Francisco Neighborhood Antenna-Free Union (SNAFU)

International Commission for Electromagnetic Safety (ICEMS)
